Hell? s Angels is an extraordinary film. It is certainly the best WWI aviation film, although Wings runs it discontinuance, and it has flying sequences that are simply staggering, because they are so obviously sincere. There is a astounding sequence depicting the attack on an huge Zeppelin which shows how the giant airship actually operated and gives a sense of its size, slowness and vulnerability. Here is a woman who knows what she wants and doesn? t allow conventions to win in her scheme. What? s more the film doesn? t attempt to tone-down this characterization. She frankly admits she wants nothing to do with marriage and family values and it is this frankness which must have seemed so terrifying to contemporary audiences. Hell? s Angels is also not jumpy to point to flyers tubby of dismay and questioning the point of the war. It? s most sympathetic character is a coward who fair wants to live. The chronicle is thus rather new, especially for a war film, for it does not believe the heroics and the heroes so familiar from the genre, but rather shows the grim determination of jumpy men to catch the job done.
It is possible to score a few criticisms of this film. The two leading men are only adequate as actors and lack the charisma of more familiar thirties leading men. Furthermore they are not particularly convincing as Englishmen for they develop tiny attempt to disguise their American accents. Also the German characters are a itsy-bitsy too stereotypical and at times slightly ludicrous, especially in one scene where they note their Teutonic willingness to die for the Fatherland by jumping from a Zeppelin.
The print veteran for this MCA Universal video is first class. It has been restored so that it includes some tinted night and early morning scenes and includes a astonishing early Technicolor party scene. The sound is better than is often the case with early talkies; there is very minute background noise, although there are some snatches of dialogue which are a microscopic indistinct. This is a high quality video and considerable viewing for fans of WWI aviation films.

- still-teenaged Jean Harlow, elegant in her only Technicolor footage, and giving a worthy better performance under the direction of (I steal) James Whale than she would in “Public Enemy” a year later;
- a riveting nighttime Zeppelin attack with an fantastic payoff;
- aerial battle scenes unmatched for realism that truly thunder the fear of fights-to-the-death in the skies (apparently three pilots died doing the grand stunts) .

Ben Lyon is the only lead performer whose acting seems fairly fresh and somewhat natural while the other male leads are quiet stuck in that irregular, stilted early-talkie mode (the film was begun as a restful and morphed into a talkie over a two-year shoot spanning 1928-1930) . The biggest flaw is the ridiculous stereotypical portrayal of the German commanders as sadistic Huns straight out of a WWI propaganda film; this is the most dated element in what remains, given the period in which it was produced, an amazingly sharp film, beautifully restored in its fresh DVD incarnation by UCLA film restoration experts.

I was 14 when I started watching Assassinate, She Wrote in 1984. Having grown up with shows like Columbo, Matlock, Remington Steele, Hart to Hart, Charlie’s Angels, (the short-lived) Ellery Queen, and many others, I was very intrigued by this original present. I didn’t know who Angela Lansbury was or how the display would be structured. All I knew was that I would bag to play detective along with the lead, and that was all I needed to hear. Created & written by the same team (Peter Fischer, Richard Levinson, and William Link) who’d created shows like Columbo, a deviously clever made-for-TV movie called ‘Rehearsal for Murder’ (which I had objective seen the summer before MSW premiered), plus a whole slew of other shows to their credit, I knew MSW was roam to be a hit. And a hit it was.
Filled with more celebrity guests than Oscar night, the reveal played aesthetic with its audience, giving them the clues they needed to solve the crime(s) before the final 10 minutes of the expose. The flashbacks, helping to remind you what you may have missed, were an especially nice touch. The writing was inviting, the storylines fun & novel, and the production was first rate. Of course, none of this would’ve mattered if the lead wasn’t someone we liked. Cue: Angela Lansbury.

Originally, the section of J.B. Fletcher was supposed to go to Jean Stapleton; Edith Bunker from All in the Family. But Stapleton didn’t want to do another series, so she turned the portion down. Lansbury was the studio’s 2nd choice. A faded of stage and conceal, Lansbury was the perfect fit for the role of J.B. Fletcher, a retired High School English teacher turned writer by her somewhat naïve but absolutely adorable nephew, Grady, who turns in Fletcher’s manuscript she wrote to bear the lonely times following her husband Frank’s death to a Recent York publisher. After becoming an immediate success, Fletcher is whisked off to her publisher’s mansion where a costume party leads to the ultimate death of 2 of the stars of that evening’s point to. Using popular sense, some logic, and perseverance, J.B. solves the crime in the final 15 minutes and her fate is sealed. She becomes the writer everyone adores who seems to glean a abolish (or two, or three…) to solve no matter where she goes.
Lansbury’s charm was subtle but immediately contagious & recognizable. She played Fletcher perfectly. J.B. was no-nonsense but never derogatory. She was practical, but not a stick-in-the-mud. She was fun but she knew her limits. She was fallible, compassionate, silly, sparkling, susceptible to deceit, and an all-around nice person. In other words, she portrayed someone who could exist. Someone we could root and care for. Clear, there are countless many who couldn’t beget the show’s characters would even invite J.B. to an event given that there always seemed to be death following halt gradual her. But, hey. This was television. And that was the whole premise of the show: A mystery writer turned assassinate solver. There had to be some suspension of disbelief. And in the kill, it was gargantuan television; watching what most criminals understanding was a helpless used busybody foiling their crimes in a frigid & quiet style.
What most people may not know is that MSW was not a runaway hit during its 1st season that it eventually turned into. The 1st season ratings were okay, but nothing stellar, and there was a time when it looked like MSW might not return for a 2nd season. It was only during the first season’s reruns that the explain began to obtain its audience and lift up steam. And by the time Season 2 started, the display was primed for broadcast. After it did, there was no stopping it.
Never let it be said that Sunday nights during the mid to behind 80’s or early 90’s were plain. For 11 seasons Assassinate, She Wrote ate up the ratings on Sunday nights following 60 Minutes. Unfortunately, its 12th season pitted it against Friends on Thursday nights when the then head of CBS, who didn’t know what to do with the prove after so many [successful] years, wanted to bury it for generous. And qualified he did. Destroy, She Wrote unprejudiced couldn’t survive the onslaught of Friends. The note was cancelled after the 12th season, with the aptly entitled final episode `Death by Demographics’. Lansbury did go on to appear in 4 Execute, She Wrote 2-hour TV “movies” over the next 6 years, (South by Southwest, A Chronicle to Die For, The Last Free Man, and The Celtic Riddle) . None of them included members from the expose (like Seth, Mort, or Grady), but they did relieve absorb the void felt when Execute left the air in 1996.
Now the display seems to be finally making its scheme to DVD soon. However, there are rumors on Universal Studios’ website that the disks will be compiled in a `Best Of…’ format. I really hope that isn’t the case, as I’ll probably not rob it if they are. While Slay, She Wrote (like any other present) certainly had its section of dud episodes, they tranquil lent credence to why this was one of the most successful shows of all time, even if CBS executives decided to cancel it instead of nurturing it.
Let’s objective hope that Universal Studios gives its audience what it wants: The note, on DVD in order of broadcast, honest like any other expose. J.B., Angela Lansbury, and their fans deserve some sweet justice after all these years…
Saying that the upcoming DVD release of Kill, She Wrote is long overdue is like saying chocolate is only an “OK” treat — a world class understatement! In fact, “world class” describes this primitive series perfectly, from its multi-talented cast, sharp stories and production value. Cancel, She Wrote is arguably the most beloved American TV mystery series, and for agreeable reason.
The series began in 1984 when Angela Lansbury was 58 and continued through 1996 producing 264 episodes for CBS, and easily winning its time slot for most of its bustle.
The improbable Ms. Lansbury, who as a notorious career on Broadway and in the movies, portrayed the lead character of Jessica Fletcher, a widowed, childless English teacher from the fictional runt seaport of Cabot Cove, Maine. (The exteriors of the homes, seaport and ocean scenes were actually shot on the opposite cruise — in Mendicino, Calif.)
In the series, Jessica’s still and predictable life is abruptly turned upside down after her nephew submits a mystery manuscript she wrote under the name “J.B. Fletcher” to an East Flee publisher without her knowledge and the book is published. (In the prove, Jessica’s middle name is Beatrice.) The book becomes an instant bestseller, and Jessica-the-author continues to write similarly accepted yarns until she becomes internationally noted. Equally eminent is Jessica’s uncanny knack at solving crimes as an amateur sleuth who is called upon to benefit by law enforcement from Cabot Cove to Europe and beyond as the series continues. (It is inspiring to ticket that Jean Stapleton, who portrayed Edith Bunker on All in the Family, was first offered the role of Jessica but, thankfully, declined.)
Show creators Richard Levinson, William Link and Peter S. Fischer (Lansbury’s real-life husband) brought an impressively combined resume that included Columbo, Mannix, Alfred Hitchcock Point To and Ellery Queen.
In the show’s premiere (included in this DVD release), Jessica’s nephew Grady (portrayed throughout the series by Michael Horton) submits that fateful manuscript to a Current York City publisher. Not only does that begin his beloved aunt’s career, it swiftly embroils her deeply into her first homicide investigation as well as a tragic admire affair.
Each week, viewers were treated to the often murderous happenings in itsy-bitsy town, peaceful Cabot Cove, which ended up having at least 50 murders investigated by Jessica over the course of the series. Jessica helped the local constabulary there, initially bumbling Sheriff Amos Tupper, portrayed by Tom Bosley, then a more credible Sheriff, Mort Metzger, portrayed by Ron Masak, to solve whatever crime occurred.

Along the device, Ms. Lansbury was supported by luminous charactor actor William Windom who portrayed crusty Dr. Seth Hazlitt and Jessica’s closest friend. Hazlitt felt more than friendship for Jessica as the point to continued, but unfortunately, the two were never officially brought together.
Broadway legends Len Cariou and the leisurely Jerry Orbach (both friends of Ms. Lansbury) had recurring roles as British Intelligence Agent Michael Hagerty and Chicago Private Detective Harry McGraw, respectively. It was this role that provided Orbach with the opportunity to recede on and join the cast of the notorious Law & Order.
When the exhibit began, Jessica was inexperienced and naive, the opening title sequence featuring an traditional manual typewriter upon which she pounded out her novels. When the series went off the air, Jessica maintained a second apartment in Modern York, had dined with kings and queens, been eager in international intrigue, dressed in the most stylish fashions — and the opening sequence featured an up-to-date computer and printer! But, at the heart of the series was the heart Ms. Lansbury endowed her alter ego of Jessica, who never forgot her humble beginnings or her friends and remained a woman of integrity, compassion and warmth.
On the series, Ms. Lansbury was often able to showcase her many talents. Twice she played the dual role of her cousin Emma MacGill, a London dance hall performer. It is no coincidence that the singing and dancing Ms. Lansbury’s given name is Angela Brigid MacGill Lansbury.
We can only hope that the remaining seasons of this lovely series are released in tubby and very, very soon!

On Christmas Eve in 1914, the first year of World War I, there was an unauthorized truce between the German and the British/French armies. Both sides first agreed to bury the uninteresting, and a mass was held during this brief time. Some soldiers even enjoyed playing football in no man’s land.

`Joyeux Noël’ is inspired by a real-life event that really happened on Christmas Eve at the several front lines during the First World War, and presents the material in a fine orthodox method, employing the well-handled multi-plot blueprint, in which we will see the joys and the anguish of each character: Guillaume Canet as French lieutenant, Daniel Brühl as German officer, and Gary Lewis as Scottish military chaplain. The cast playing the soldiers are unanimously righteous, but it is Gary Lewes as tormented military chaplain who is most impressive among them.
‘Joyeux Noël’ also has a sub-plot about a glowing soprano singer played by Diane Kruger and tenor singer (and her husband) by Benno Fürmann. I don’t know to what extent the film generalized these historical events it shows, but I reflect their appreciate tale looks less effective before the more realistic episodes about the solider in trench. Level-headed these songs are magnificent, and so is Diane Kruger (whose roar is dubbed by soprano singer Natalie Dessay), showing the power of the music which is timeless and universal.

But to some viewers (including me), smaller things would remain more strongly in their mind. A stray cat found in trench is given different names by the German and the French soldiers. There is a good-natured French soldier Ponchel, who sneaks out of the trench every night to meet his family living slack the enemy line. There are moments when the film wears its heart on its sleeve, but it is most touching when it chooses not to be so, showing the details of the life under the rude circumstances.
In spite of its wave of sentimentality, `Joyeux Noël’ does not forget the reality surrounding the soldiers. It surely has some “feel-good” moments that are often seen in the films about Christmas, but it is also about the humans on the battlefield, and you will realize it when you know the fate awaiting them. After all, it was composed 1914, and most people must have plan the war would be over soon while we know it finally ended in 1918. The film has a obvious, life-affirming message bolstered by spirited songs, but the film may glimpse slightly poignant when you imagine how many of them could have survived the war. `Joyeux Noël’ is an inspirational French film with several touching songs, a bit of sadness, and hope, too.

The fable revolves around a Scottish priest caught up in the drama, two German opera singers caught between savor and patriotism, and a French lieutenant missing his pregnant, sick wife. Other characters are included as the movie meanders toward the momentous evening on December 24, 1914. For American audiences raised on constant drama, this might seem to lack fireworks; yet the ideas here are potent, made all the more so by their basis in fact. When one man makes a simple sacrifice for the sake of his pleasant, he pays a label that underlines the irony of war.
In conclusion, the movie is a keen tribute to men of three nations who saw past disfavor and political intrigue long enough to part in their humanity. The fair enemies whisper themselves as those who stick dogmatically to their fill agendas. This is a message worth weighing–spiritually and politically–in light of our novel Christmas place.

We got this title on VHS. It was our first Veggie Tales video and we loved it. The DVD is fair as I rememberd the VHS, but the sound and narrate are better. The songs are gargantuan. My whole family loves it (kids and adults) .

This is my first review for Amazon. I’ve always felt that the reviews that I read were adequate to represent the movies and anime that I liked. Not this time.

I have an extensive collection of anime. Everything from the really silly stuff, filled with fan service, to the very serious classics that so many fans rave about. I’m not really into the mecha thing, though I do have a lot of it. It’s the animation first that drives my interest, then its the story and the character development are close seconds.
Appleseed has all that I’m looking for in an anime, and in Spades. Great characters, a well crafted plot, and some of the best animation I have ever see. To say, as some reviewers have, that the movement in this version are unnatural,is more than unfair, it’s just not true. All action is extremely lifelike, and the action scenes are the best I’ve ever seen. I actually found myself reversing the disc to rewatch some action repeatedly, something I never do.
I’ve owned this version of Appleseed a few weeks now, and I have watched it at least five times, and am looking forward to another veiwing soon.
I have relied on Amazon reveiws to decide whether or not to buy anime in the past, so I hope that this reveiw is helpful. There is a lot of good anime worth investing in, and this one is near the top of my list.
Close to the beginnings of my anime reviewing here I saw the 2001 Final Fantasy release. This set a standard for CGI that may very well never be equaled without a significant technology breakthrough. Another notable film of the period was the original Ghost in the Shell, had outstanding animation. Appleseed has much in common with both films. It shares the heavy use of CGI, and some interesting bits of underlying philosophy with Final Fantasy. And, like Ghost, it was created from a manga series from Masamune Shirow. If you’re familiar with Ghost in the Shell you may very well see the world of Appleseed as that post-apocalyptic version of Ghost’s, which was already unraveling.

Here the world is mostly ruined, other than a small colony composed of humans and bioroids – androids whose primary function seems to be to balance humanity’s tendency to self-destruct. They are indistinguishable from humans other than that they lack the ability to breed, and cannot feel anger. Yet all this is apparently to no avail. With no outer war to distract them mankind has opted for inner violence, and Olympus is torn by human fear of the bioroids.
Into this comes Deunan Knute, a deadly woman warrior who is the daughter of a woman who helped create the first bioroids, and, in the company of Briarius, and old lover who has become more machine than human, Deunan is Olympus’s hope for the future. Buried within her mind is the key that will complete the bioroids, and give them the capability to love and have children. The events trigger an Armageddon like confrontation.
The story is almost successful, despite it’s somewhat simplistic characterization. Director Shinji Arimaki fails to provide some needed continuity, though. The result is that important things happen off-stage and there are too many unexplained switches in the plot. Arimaki has seized the primary theme of human anger, suspicion and xenophobia, thrown in a lost of admittedly spectacular scenery and fight scenes. But he only pays lip service to the deeper questions of human nature that Shirow often addresses. The result is an vary entertaining film that just misses the mark.
That being said, it’s still worth watching. There is an earlier animation film of this story that enjoys a significant cult following. I would like to see that, and look at the manga as well. There is something to this that does capture the imagination, and there’s more to be found than what this film focuses on.

My son is 3 and a big fan of Jay Jay the Jet Plane. I purchased this DVD because it has a story we had already seen and liked, Jay Jay and the Magic Books. To those new to Jay Jay the Jet Plane, each episode features computer animated airplanes with human faces. Jay Jay and his friends have the voices of children, and ther are also “adult” planes who offer guidance. Human characters (not animated) also interact with the planes. Every episode features a song.

Unfortunately, after a few viewings of this video, my son became bored with it. Personally, I think the quality of the writing and human character acting is variable. Another disappointment for my son is that Revvin’ Evan isn’t featured in any of the stories, although he is misleadingly shown on the cover of the disk next to the two Pangabula Island stories. So, I have to explain time after time to my son that Evan isn’t in the video.

TRIP TO SKYLANDIA: Jay Jay chooses faith over logic when a dream about a kingdom in the clouds convinces him that it’s real. The plane characters appear in the dream with different names and “costumes.” This story seems better suited to one of the Inspirational Jay Jay collections, and is not a good introduction to the series because of the character name changes.
JAY JAY’S BUTTERFLY ADVENTURE: Jay Jay tries to find a winter home for Breezy the Butterfly, only to learn with relief that he already has one. Cute story with some accurate info about monarch butterflies. Brenda Blue is annoyingly dismissive of Jay Jay’s questions about Breezy–my only real gripe.
JAY JAY AND THE MAGIC BOOKS: Jay Jay and Tracy spend a rainy day at the library. Jay Jay learns that you can go on an adventure without even leaving home. Both underwater and outer space stories are included, and the featured song is very soothing. The librarian is hearing impaired, so sign language is featured. This is still my son’s favorite episode.
TUFFY’S TRIP TO PANGABULA: Tuffy straps on a balloon to fly to Pangabula Island and join his friends. She can’t steer so Captain Wentworth and her boat come to the rescue. Tuffy then returns the favor. This episode is marred by the appearance of Mr. Crabby, the first mate to Captain Wentworth. Mr. Crabby is supposed to be like Gilligan, but is more annoying than funny.
TUFFY’S ADVENTURE IN PANGABULA: Tuffy has a difficult time getting around on an island that has no roads. But she saves the day by rescuing the Sparkleberry tree. The premise of a sacred tree that likes to be harvested is a little overdone. The human actor in this story portrays a stereotyped Pacific Islander.
Nothing gets killed or blows up. Good life lessons and great characters. I was proud to be a joystick-animator on this series.

I thought this was a great family movie. While it won’t hold the attention of the younger kids, older children will enjoy it. The acting is wonderful, especially the “young lass”, what a great part for her. Too bad about the cynical review earlier, but that’s what I expect from profession movie critics, they are out to pick apart the film itself, where I am looking for entertainment factor for myself and for my family. As for MY family, we thoroughly enjoyed the movie.
Although not Oscar material with the script, this film makes up for it with the acting by a little girl, her lonely mother, and their colorful and ambient patrons of their little hotel and pub in Scotland. The hotel is closed for the season, but Danson makes the mother an offer she can’t refuse…they could really use the Yank’s money. Danson plays a scientist that had lost his credibility but who is now ‘volunteered’ by his University and sent to Scotland to find proof that Nessie does exist. Of course Danson’s character wants to disprove it-with an attitude problem. Even though he doesn’t believe in Nessie, there are those locals that would scuttle his hi-tech research anyway. The little girl, liking Danson’s character, trusting him, and seeing that he’d be good for her mother…she’s a bit psychic..and trusting him, takes him to enjoy her secret place. An underground cavern and its inhabitants shocks him beyond his wildest imagination. Now Danson’s character must choose between fame and glory, or leaving the Loch the way it was always meant to be…peaceful. The wrong choice and he loses the ones that he loves, and those who love him. It’s a colorful piece with wonderful acting and equally wonderful music. It is a great family movie where the ending leaves you with a warm heart and a smile. For the price of one movie ticket, you can entertain the whole family…and maybe some friends.

I loved watching this HBO Series immensely and was sad to see it go off the air! So, when “Sex & The City”, the movie came out, it felt like catching up with old friends you hadn’t seen in a few years….

The movie still has the same cast of actors playing the roles of characters we’ve come to know and love. Everything in the movie clicked and felt right from the storyline, the funny situations and the blips that happen along the way. Watching the movie version of “Sex & The City” was like watching an extended version of one of the television episodes, letting us, the viewers, see where & what the characters are up to now.
The entire movie was well done. If you liked the television series, then you’ll like the movie too.
I’ve watched this twice now, the first time I didn’t like it as much and then I watched it again and it was very funny, the girls have great love for each other. The sex scenes are taseful and very enjoying.

Good action vampire stories, whether written, drawn or on film are just plain hard to find. For a while now the ‘not quite bad’ vampire and even the ‘good’ vampire have been fashionable. Not that I have anything against Angel or Henry Fitzroy and their ilk, but sometimes you want a story with a clear division between good and evil and a lot of knock them down and stake them action. Enter Blade.
Blade is a half vampire with a very nasty attitude toward his relatives on the dark side. Played by Wesley Snipes, he has all the moves and attitude you could ever want. His partner in his war against the things that did in his mother is Abraham Whistler (Kris Kristofferson). Later, Karen (N’Bushe Wright) a forensic hematologist who has the bad luck to find a vampire on her table, joins them. Opposing this team is Frost (Steven Dorff), a vampire rebel who thinks it is time for the un-people with pointy teeth to come out of the closet. His plan is simple. Take over the vampire council, capture Blade and resurrect La Magra – the blood god. Then there will be nothing but vampires and bloodsicles.
‘Blade’ is an extremely violent film. Almost everyone is a martial arts expert, has access to what the US Congress would consider weapons of mass destruction, or is a victim. Sometimes, they are all three. Toss in a sufficiency of special effects, great settings, and good acting and you have the film. What makes ‘Blade’ work is its intense focus. It works hard at being exactly what it is – an action film with a strong ‘wow’ factor. Sometimes that is exactly what you need.
Steven Norrington, a director considerable experience in the horror/science fiction genre, has a great sense of what it takes to make comic book characters come to life on the screen. He manages to retain the strong visual impact of the original Marvel Comics series. David Goyer’s script manages to capture the essence of comic book dialogue – sparse, but not stilted. The overall effect is a film that builds smoothly from start to ending, with very few slow moments.
The extras on the DVD are surprisingly good. Good sized features on the concepts and effects that went into the film, the story of the Blade comic, and an interesting survey of the vampire in human imagination. In addition, there is an extensive running commentary for the film. All of these are intelligently done. I think ‘Blade,’ despite its violence, will appeal a wide range of viewers as something more than just another Hong Kong fight film wannabe.
This was a great action/horror film, packed with some excellent special effects, an entertaining storyline, and at least a couple of reasonably talented actors (Snipes, Dorff). Kristofferson is terrible as always (a hint to you casting people… Sam Elliott would have been MUCH better as the tough and gritty Whistler).
But you’re not really reading this review to hear about the movie — you can get that kind of info anywhere. What you want to know is “Is the DVD worth buying instead of a VHS tape?” Weeeellll…
This movie is undoubtedly THE showcase movie for DVD (the Mummy is another very good choice). The picture quality is fantastic, and the sound is incredible (you gotta listen to it in Dolby Digital 5.1 on a nice home theater system to fully appreciate the sound). But what really sets this format apart from anything else are the SPECIAL FEATURES. A ton of things like information about the different Vampire houses, commentary from the director on the making of the film, and an alternative ending, really show how the DVD format can add to your viewing experience. Many DVDs (too many, in fact) are simply direct transfers from another format to DVD. No extras, limited enhancements on picture and sound… A perfect example of a BAD DVD is Highlander!
The DVD versions of the Bond movies have also shown the industry a thing or two about how to make a truly interesting and worthwhile DVD movie. DVDs like Blade make me happy I purchased a DVD player!

One Piece is a great series and this uncut version will impress you more than the terrible botched job that 4kids released awhile back. One Piece is epic and full of heart. The characters are funny and their motivations for their journey will keep you watching. You’ll cheer when they win and you’ll hate the baddies that try to stop them. It’s a cast filled with great characters and exciting stories. This uncut version is a must-have!
Can’t wait to buy this!

Some things i’d like to point out about One Piece:
1. Its really good! veeeeeeeeerrrrryy good 
funny, original, deep meaningful storylines, very cool and likable characters…. thats a brief description but i could honestly write pages on how good it is

2. It starts off just ok… but it gets better and better as it goes along… just like a snowball rolling down a mountain that eventually becomes an avalanche! i’m not kidding! i wasn’t that into it at the start.. just watching it cos i heard it was good.. finally around episode 40ish (nami’s story) i thought.. hey this is quite good! then the aribasta arc (around episode 90-125ish).. i was like wow! and it just gets better and better! and i’m not just saying that.. it really does!
3. Dont worry about watching the One Piece movies. they aren’t written by Eiichiro Oda (the super cool guy that writes/draws One Piece manga), they’re basically almost like filler episodes that dont really progress the main story. you can watch them once you’ve seen the anime episodes and dont have anything to do.. but dont watch them first! it might put you off and make you think One Piece is not great. I love One Piece.. and i dont even really watch the movies. I saw some reviews on amazon for the One Piece movie Desert Princess (forgot the exact title).. and some first time viewers got really put off by it.. which is a huge shame. the reason that movie is bad is they tried to condense 30+ anime episodes into a movie length feature… you lose so much emotional impact that way. just ignore the movies and maybe watch them after you’ve seen the series. you dont even really need to watch the movies.
4. if you are put off by the unusual way that its drawn.. dont worry.. you’ll get so used to it.. and soon you couldn’t imagine it drawn any other way!
5. Dont be put off by the length of the series. Trust me, once you’re into it.. you’ll wish that there was more episodes!
